Finished shooting my diy music video for STILLNESS on Sunday with Hantz (MOOV)! In experimenting with popstardum, I got some “Katy Perry” false eyelashes on sale at CVS and wore them on Sunday. It’s been a process. At first I didn’t want to lip-sync at all, but then realized it looked like I was an actor is someone else’s music video. Also, I realized I didn’t need to lip-sync, I could just actually sing it out loud! That identifies me as the singer, and also in this case, the writer.
Anyways, I’m nobody big and it’s a just little song and little music video, but it has taken a lot of work. And it’s been cold. (What you can’t quite see in these photos are my frozen boogers).
This song started just about a year ago, after 10-day Vipassana (silent meditation course, that was not easy). It’s been and continues to be an mind-bending, perspective-shifting creative journey with all the collaborators who continue to help shape it along the way.
I’m interested in the life span of songs, the different ways songs can express themselves, the evolution of a song.
So thankful and humbled by all the talent each step: Hash, Patrick, Cliff, Hantz, Katie, Joey, Alan, Sarah, Josh, Mary-Alice, Kristof, Lindsay, Peter. Excited for the next incarnation, the DC9 live version Thursday Jan 16th.
Looking to release the video next week, eeeeeEeeeeeK..
THAT’S A WRAP
